The American Textile History Museum participates in community events all over our region. Visit us at our booth for some textile fun and chat. Our activities feature textile demonstrations, such as flax processing, spinning, and weaving, and crafts for kids-of-all-ages.

Hopkinton State Fair

Thursday-Saturday, Sept. 2,3,4
392 Kearsarge Ave., Hopkinton State Fairgrounds, Contoocook, NH

Join us at the Morrill Family Farm Museum to see our demonstrations and make a craft. This family-run museum right on the fairgrounds will be full of the artisans and artifacts illustrative of farm life in our area, now and then – we’ll be in good company showing our flax demonstrations. This is Chelmsford Historical Society’s yearly fair to celebrate our area’s farming past and present, including hay and pony rides, and local farm crafts and skills – join us for a fun day.

Colonial Fair and Muster

Saturday, September 25, 10 – 4 PM
South Field of Longfellow’s Wayside Inn, Sudbury, MA

This colonial fair is rife with living historians, fife and drum corps, music, kids’ activities, and even a parade. We’ll be there in colonial garb. Rain or shine.  www.sudburyminutemen.org

 

Archeology Fair – at the Museum of Science – Boston

Friday-Saturday, Oct. 15-16 (9-2 PM on Fri., 10-4 PM on Sat.)

Free with museum admission, see display tables and engage in activities that will spur your “inner-archeologist.” Visit our table to learn about how textile fibers survive over time, and do a fun craft to take home.

 

4th Annual Hudson Kiwanis Pumpkin Fest

Saturday, Oct. 16 (11 AM - 4 PM)
Hills Garrison House, Rte. 102, Hudson, NH  (across from Alvirne High School)
The Hudson Kiwanis Club puts on this 3-day carnival full of crafts, games, food, rides, and fun –  with a pumpkin theme. We will be there on Saturday. Proceeds will benefit charitable causes. Come join the fun. http://hudsonpumpkinfest.com
