Make It – Engineering Program

Suggested Age: 8-11 years.
Dates: Tuesday, July 9, Wednesday, July 10 and Thursday July 11, 9am-12 noon
Cost: $100  
During this 3 day workshop you will experience some of the exciting and challenging fields of engineering. Assemble and test different types of moving parts, construct a simple machine to draw with, complete an electrical circuit, and use paper to make mechanical paper models called Karakuri.  Bring a snack.

Native American Life

Suggested Age: 6-8 years.
Dates: Tuesday, July 9, Wednesday, July 10 and Thursday July 11, 9am-12 noon
Costs: $100  
Come explore Native American history with us!  We will have fun investigating this culture by listening to stories, making a model of a birch bark canoe, playing Native American games, exploring artifacts, sampling foods, and creating crafts. Snack provided.

3 Day Fabric Design and Sewing

Suggested Age: 8 and older. No sewing experience necessary.
Dates: Wednesday, July 24, Thursday, July 25 and Friday, July 26, 9am-12 noon
Cost: $100
Create signature fabric to use for an outfit that you design. Learn to draft a top pattern as well as use retail patterns to cut out your outfit.  You will machine sew the top, skirt or shorts completing one great outfit! Bring a snack.

Summer 2013 Program - 3 Day Fabric Design and Sewing

 

Textile Journey through the Centuries

Suggested Age: 8-11 years.
Dates: Monday, July 29 to Friday, August 2, 9:30am-4pm
Cost: $200 per week or $40 per day
In this 5 day program experience a fascinating textile journey from 17th century Native America to Modern Day 21st century, through fiber arts & crafts, period games, a field trip in historic Lowell, no bake snacks and interactive play.  Bring a lunch, snacks provided.

Textile Arts Exploration Week

Suggested Age: 9 and older.
Dates: Monday, August 5 to Friday, August 9, 9:30am-4pm
Cost: $200 per week or $40 per day.  
Explore the many different styles of textile artists from crocheting and Ikat dyeing to embellishing techniques and hand rolling fabric beads. Discover the latest techniques in up-cycling and recycling.  Visit neighboring art galleries and see items that are trending now. Bring a snack and lunch.

Summer 2013 Program - Textile Arts Exploration Week

 

Refund policy:  All classes/workshops must be prepaid in order to participate in the programs. Refund requests are granted up to 7 days before the class/ workshop begins. A $10 non-refundable registration fee will be charged to the students being refunded for class/ workshops that the do not attend. Refunds will not be granted to students that do not cancel within the 7 day time period prior to the class/ workshop.  Tuition and fees may be transferred to another class/workshop. A full refund will be granted for classes/workshops that do not take place due to insufficient enrollment. Students will be notified 7 days before the class/workshop is scheduled to begin if the class has been cancelled due to insufficient enrollment.
